Ashaway Crossfire Plus is a hybrid of braided Kevlar/PTFE 17g mains for added playability, and multi-stranded synthetic gut 16g crosses. Offers optimum durability, a firm string bed for ball control, with the addition of PTFE filaments into the braided kevlar mains for softer feel. Consistent bite on the ball for superior spin. Remains a great choice for chronic string breakers. Great option to Prince Pro Blend.

Very Surprised by the extra spin and control.
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I am a chronic string breaker and I have had no luck in finding better strings. I tried Wilson, Babalot, Kirschbaum, head, etc. I string myself and I strung (Crossfire plus 17) as recommended with Kevlar as Mains at 55 lbs and Synthetic as Crosses at 60 lbs. I noticed extra spin and much more control in hitting the shots with close to accuracy. I have also noticed some elastic feel on the shot with extra power. I play doubles and my opponents are having a bit of hard time with that extra power and pop with spin. Just give it a try if you are a chronic string breaker and hope you will like the extra power and durability.

Great Feel
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I am a 4.0, 4.5 baseline player and recently switched to a Prince Warrior 100L ESP racquet. The open string pattern was great but I was breaking strings constantly. I tried a polyester but had no touch or feel on my shots. Tried the Crossfire plus and boy what a difference. Touch and control and putting the ball right where I want it. If the durability is as advertised I will be staying with this string for a long time to come.

My Favorite String.
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I own a stringer and have tried every full and hybrid combination you can imagine. I have also experimented with tensions in many different full and hybrid setups. My conclusion is Ashaway Crossfire Plus is great for doubles players in the 3-5 to 5-0 club range. My reasons are as simple as 123. 1) control: you can put the ball anywhere you wish with these strings. The firm string bed is very good for last minute change of direction shots, like passing shots. 2) Spin: you can kick the ball and spin the ball on serves like no other strings I have tried. Also the ball will dive into the middle of the court right where would be players are approaching, landing at there feet. 3) consistant: want to win at doubles then put the ball in the court. With this string hybrid you will not miss long very often or wide. It just won't happen. So if you are looking for an edge in doubles at the club level Ashaway Crossfire Plus is it. It is softer than other kevlar hybrids and plays rather comfortably when tensioned 5 pounds lower than the synthetic gut cross. I put mine at 52 / 58 on my aero drive pro gt and I love it. I have also tried it at 50/56 with similar results. Because of this I tend to string the cross in the middle of the rackets recommendation and then go down 5 pounds for the kevlar mains. If you are a singles player and hit for hours on end I don't know if I would recommend kevlar. But, I do for doubles players who are playing in club leagues or for fun, this could be the strings you have always searched for. I play singles myself from time to time with no arm issues, so you will have to try it and just see how you are. My final suggestion is, just try it before you knock kevlar.
