These are a must especially when using gut hybrid strings. These work so well at preventing breakage, most of the time I have to cut the strings out because they've gone dead. They also give added spin.

I'm a heavy hitter with top spin, but unfortunately can't deal with polyester in the main: works well for a few hours then I completely lose the feel in my shoulder. The only setup that worked for me is the "champions choice" with a synthetic gut in main and poly cross. Halas in that case the mains get sawed in which is stressful and they just break after a few hours. Those savers completely saved me! I used to spend about $50 every 2 weeks to string 2 rackets, now the exact same setup has been working perfect for 2 months! And I just checked, the mains are still absolutely intact! No loss in feel and the spin is greater than without. Just string about 4 pounds lower. I am getting a stash of these for years to come.

This is the best string saver on the market. I install them with an every other one pattern in the sweet spot area when I hybridize strings with natural gut. They prevent the mains from moving and give me extra life on the gut strings plus some added spin as a bonus. These are great!
