Luxilon Element Rough 130 is a new 16L gauge string that emphasizes playability and tension maintenance, without sacrificing the spin, control, and durability for which Luxilon is known. Co-polyester string with a textured surface for added spin. The Element combines multi-mono technology with a unique Luxilon polymer to allow for ultimate feel and touch. The Element has a softer feel than that of the Luxilon ALU Power but does offer less durability than ALU Power & 4G. Thinner 16L gauge for added playability.

Great but Heat Problems

When I and friend tried this string, we bother raved about it's characteristics but that was during winter thru spring indoor play. Summer heat set in for outdoor play and we both lost ball control and found the string to be too elastic. We were both disappointed as it is a great string until 90-degree to 100+ court temps showed the string weakness. Please keep this in mind.

Excellent for Spin

I have this strung at 55 lbs in a new Wilson Burn Spin Effect Racquet. I first tried the Alu Power 120 (which was nearly indestructible in my N Code Tour and its dense string pattern) but with the open stringing pattern of the Burn SE at 50 lbs (Luxilon recommends stringing 10% lighter than recommended) the string didn't last long. I've been pleasantly surprised with the very good play-ability of this string strung at 55 lbs, and it has lasted longer than the thinner Alu Power 120. So, I will stick with this string despite the premium price.
