The Volkl V1 Classic is a modern day legend, dating back to its introduction in 1994. The V1 Classic has been known as one of the most arm-friendly racquets on the market for the past 20-plus years. New for 2022, Volkl has updated the cosmetic to the V1 Classic. The racquet specifications and playing characteristics remain unchanged from the past generations of the V1 Classic.

A great blend of power, control, and comfort that has proven to be very popular with a wide variety of players. One of the most arm-friendly frames on the market today.

Best racquet for shoulder problems and to prevent tennis elbow
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I am a over 50, was a college player and played on the Challengers when young until I damaged my right ankle. I still play for fun 2-3 times a week with friends around 4.5 level. After an accident I can no longer fully extend to serve, so I had to adopt a compact service motion, which caused me to hit frequently with the top end or above the sweet spot. I used several models until the accident, sticking to the Volkl 8 then V1 MP, but to help with speed for the compact service motion I tried for months multiple light models. Light models helped speed up the swing, but had less power and forgiveness on the top section, and also started irritating my elbow on ground strokes, even with Tungsten added, which it also changed the swing speed. The Volkl V1 Classic is perfect for my case, 27 inc strung weight of 10.7 with 1 pt HL and 68 stiff makes it light yet with enough weight to hit comfortably. It also has a CTS design (wider tip like a baseball bat) which makes it extremely forgiving on hits on the top section of the strings. This are the last models I tried with the V1 Classic 2022: Yonex Ezone 100L and 100SL - Easy swing, big sweet spot but significant loss of power on top section Prince Phantom 100X 290 - Only other CTS model bellow 11.0 I was able to find, less forgiving than Volkl possibly due the Anti-Torsion System Volkl V-Cell 5 and 6 - Very good overall but still some loss of power on top section Volk V1 Evo - Plush but not great for services for me due the 11.4 weight and also required bigger swings for power Wilson Blade 98L (16x19) v6 - 2021 - Comfortable but required larger swings for power, also some loss of stability and power at top section Head Graphene XT Radical MP - 2016 - Very similar to Wilson Blade Babolat Pure Drive Team - 2021 - This one started to feel bad on the elbow by the third day so I stopped My suggestion is to look at your needs and try different models, no rush. I tested several from friends and others from Tennis-Point. Very pleased with their demo program. I hope this helps.
